Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) Visited the Headquarter of the African Energy Commission (AFREC)
Algiers, Algeria- 7 September 2016: Dr. Xiansheng Sun, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) visited the Headquarter of the African Energy Commission (AFREC) On Wednesday, 7 September 2016.

Mr. Atef MARZOUK, Interim Executive Director of AFREC welcomed and thanked Dr. Sun and his team for visiting the AFREC and appreciate the collaboration with IEF

Dr. Sun, mentioned that the IEF is a platform for informal dialogue between energy producing and consuming countries on issues of common interest. Initiated in 1991, it celebrate this year its twenty-fifth anniversary. The IEF headquarter based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the IEF includes seventy-three member countries in which 25 of them are African States (14 countries are members of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and 29 countries are members of the International Energy Agency (IEA)
Dr. Sun, highlighted that the IEF is planning to organize Africa Energy Dialogue and capacity building workshop on energy statistical and database at the beginning of 2017.

Mr. MARZOUK, reiterated the importance of collaboration with the international organization and mentioned that AFREC has strong relation with the International Energy Agency (IEA), Internal Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and World Energy Council (WEC)
